Serena Williams and her pregnant belly are featured in a nude photo on the cover of the most recent issue of Vanity Fair, unveiled on Tuesday.

“Hey, Naomi! It’s Serena Williams. As I said on the court, I am so proud of you and I am truly sorry. I thought I was doing the right thing in sticking up for myself. But I had no idea the media would pit us against each other. I would love the chance to live that moment over again. I am, was, and will always be happy for you and supportive of you. I would never, ever want the light to shine away from another female, specifically another black female athlete. I can’t wait for your future, and believe me I will always be watching as a big fan! I wish you only success today and in the future. Once again, I am so proud of you. All my love and your fan, Serena.”

The online spy group, known as Fancy Bear, released records of four top female athletes, Venus and Serena Williams, four-time gymnastics gold medallist Simone Biles and basketball player Elena Delle Donne, on Monday.

Worldwide tennis champion Serena Williams pretty much slays everything she does, and that’s soon going to include motherhood. To celebrate the upcoming arrival of her little one, she recently posed for the cover of Vanity Fair – wearing nothing but panties and a body chain.

You are absolutely right. There are bigger issues in the world. However, that does not negate the fact that our society’s comfort with nudity and other forms of immorality is disgraceful. If we weren’t so blessed with life’s comforts, we would understand what life is really about. No one is a “goddess” as this title calls Serena Williams. We are all at the mercy of God. He has blessed us with everything we have and we have forgotten to be humble and grateful. Instead, we think we can do whatever we want and distort what true beauty is, which has very little to do with sex at all. These images do not show true beauty (as they are manipulated or airbrushed) nor do they show the truth about pregnancy. I find this image worth speaking out against because I believe God has better for us than to flaunt our bodies. Believe me, I have plenty in my life to keep me busy, but if we don’t fight for what is right then we are simply letting our culture go to hell.

And yet Williams is concerned that her game face has been misinterpreted, that the posture she assumes to let everyone know she means business looks threatening instead. “I feel like people think I’m mean,” she says. “Really tough and really mean and really street. I believe that the other girls in the locker room will say, ‘Serena’s really nice.’ But Maria Sharapova, who might not talk to anybody, might be perceived by the public as nicer. Why is that? Because I’m black and so I look mean? That’s the society we live in. That’s life. They say African-Americans have to be twice as good, especially women. I’m perfectly OK with having to be twice as good.”
